Job Title: Internship – Weather Broadcasting (Unpaid)
Hours: Three to Seven Days/Week, approximately 30 minutes per day.
KISL 88.7 FM in Avalon, CA (www.kislavalon.com) seeks a motivated, articulate Weather Intern to file daily updates on Catalina Island for broadcast. The Weather Intern will research weather forecasts for Catalina Island using internet resources, create an informative and entertaining 60 second audio report, and upload to our station computer for broadcast. The audio reports can be created on a smartphone or on a desktop/laptop computer. The intern does not need to live on Catalina Island and may work from anywhere in the United States. Familiarity with Catalina Island and Avalon is a plus. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to gain actual on-air experience as a weatherperson. Familiarity with Catalina Island and Avalon is a plus. This is an outstanding opportunity for the right person to gain actual on-air experience as a sportscaster.   1. Unpaid radio talent rarely get “fat heads”! I (stream) listen to KISL daily instead of the paid idiots that think their stuff don’t stink on local radio stations near me. KISL and their volunteers are truly the best.
