Hi, Charles. Some years ago some 16″ radio transcription discs were found in storage at the Casino. These were broadcasts of the Dick Jurgens Orchestra from the Casino Ballroom between 1938-1941. Dick Jurgens III had some of them transferred to CD and restored and they were supposedly made available for sale through the Catalina Museum. You may want to check with the museum to see if they are still available. There was also a CD on the Hindsight label (HCD-111) of radio transcriptions of the Jurgens band from 1937-39, but I’m not sure if they were from Avalon. Feel free to email me at glennrobison@kislavalon.com
Hey Timoteo, Nice music tonight…. and of course – it’s nice that you called me up, perks up our afternoon a little over here. Best wishes for a great season. Aloha – Karrcita
